Anne Sofie von Otter
This production has been canceled.
Queen of the lyric repertoire, whether it is baroque, classical or romantic, the Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter is as at ease and as elegant whether she is singing popular songs, folk songs or jazz. French music occupies an important place in her repertoire : ‘I love singing in this language. I like the nasal sounds, the colour of the words... It is very sensual, light, subtle and it leaves a great deal to the imagination’ she explained at the 2013 release of her double album Douce France : an album that gives equal importance to Debussy or Fauré’s songs as to Edith Piaf’s La vie en rose or Léo Ferré’s Le Pont Mirabeau. With her velvety timbre and perfect diction, this artist takes us on a journey moving with ease between the different styles of music but which, for her, form one sole family : a world of warmth, pleasure and melancholy...
