Passa Porta Festival

The fourth edition of the Passa Porta Festival promises four evenings and one day of inspirational encounters, readings and debates with writers and thinkers from all over the world.
In the heart of Europe, a continent where dreams and fantasy are coming under increasing pressure, a hundred leading authors will make the case for imagination. They will invite their readers to accompany them on a journey to a fictitious or longed-for world, discuss their approach to writing and the interplay between fact and fiction, and underscore the importance of imagination, particularly in times of crisis and revolution.

The Parcours of 24 March leads literature-lovers through the centre of Brussels. It’s a day-long celebration for literature aficionados, with meet-the-author sessions, workshops and walks – as well as activities linked to film, visual art and music – in venues as diverse as theatres, museums, libraries, cafés and hidden corners of the city. The international guests include among others: Julian Barnes, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Laurent Binet, A.S. Byatt, Karl Ove Knausgård, Cees Nooteboom and Adam Zagajewski. Also on the programme: workshops for children, a short story competition for budding writers and activities centring on graphic novels, fiction, and urban legends ....
