La Monnaie - Kids program

Kids program

La Monnaie offers companies its expertise in artistic, cultural and educational fields to organise events for the children of your staff or your guests, at the theatre or in your company.

WORKSHOPS

What could be more appealing than learning whilst having fun? What could be more interesting and enriching than a collective work combining music, theatre, costumes and scenery?

  • Viva Verdi !
One-day workshop for children aged 9 to 12 – 25 participants and 2 leaders per group, and up to 3 groups at the same time. At La Monnaie or in your company.
Surprises, entertainment and emotions are on the programme for this introduction to the famous Italian composer and to opera in general.
Verdi's great tree of life and an impressive snakes and ladders game will allow children to discover opera and the passionate life of an opera composer, in a fun and creative way.
The day ends with the presentation of a short performance created by the children.

  • La Cenerentola
Workshop lasting 1½ hours for parents and children aged 9 to 12 – 25 participants per group and 2 group leaders – 2 groups at the same time. Only at La Monnaie.
Discover the theatre, encounter surprising situations, create and present a true performance together: this is the challenge of this workshop centred on the story of Cinderella and Rossini's opera.
Ideas are exchanged, situations are imagined, knowledge is shared, costumes are worn, etc, with the aim of achieving an optimal artistic result.

PERFORMANCES FOR CHILDREN

What could be more marvellous for children than a performance organised for them at La Monnaie or in your company?

  • The "little" Flute
For children aged 4 to 10, with or without parents – 25 children per performance – at La Monnaie or in your company.
Musical emotions, storytelling and delightful images are on the programme for this short 30-minute performance based on Mozart's opera The Magic Flute.
Led by a storyteller and the music of Mozart, the miniature characters mime the meeting between prince Tamino and princess Pamina in a small castle. Thanks to the help of Papageno and a magic flute, the red curtain will fall on the reunited couple at last.
