In January, director Olivier Py returns to La Monnaie with his staging of ‘La Gioconda’ by Amilcare Ponchielli. It marks his fifth visit to our opera house, after ‘Les Huguenots’ (2011), 'Hamlet' (2013), ‘Dialogues des Carmélites’ (2017) et ‘Lohengrin’ (2018). We went in search of the artistic credo underlying his art and his work at La Monnaie.
