La Monnaie at Nuit Blanche
The 2018 edition of Nuit Blanche, the annual event for art lovers in Brussels, makes the lively Marolles her stage.
50 years after the May ’68 revolution, the Marolles are an ideal location to investigate the aftermath of those revolutions and to consider the concept of contestation in all its forms.
La Monnaie is participating in this unique event and takes to the stage in the Brussels’ City Archives. In À La Lettre, four soloists of our MM Academy (Gwendoline Blondeel, Raphaëlle Green, Virginie Leonard and Kamil Ben Hsaïn Lachiri) are accompanied by Ouri Bronchti on the piano. They enliven the library with aria's by Ravel, Poulenc, Menotti, Bizet and Ibert. They represent the future of opera. Be enchanted by one of their five performances between 8 pm and midnight at this unique location.
