2019–20

Presentation
Chamber music is the purest kind of music.— Arthur Honegger

A superb moment of musical me-time, and a smooth, gentle run-up to the weekend: come enjoy the La Monnaie Chamber music concerts, every Friday at 12.30 pm. In the elegant setting of our Grand Foyer, they offer the intensity and immediacy of live music, challenging programmes and a rich variety of performing ensembles.

The programme for October

If the works performed during chamber concert series are always in dialogue with the main programme of La Monnaie, the opening Concertino proposes the entire 2019-20 season from a bird’s eye view. Richard Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Mozart: they all pass by! In the weeks thereafter, we look back at the world premiere of Le Silence des ombres with a contemporary composition by Benjamin Attahir and prepare the upcoming Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher with a focus on Les Six and Honegger.
