Call for applications – extras

For Romeo Castellucci’s production of The Magic Flute at the La Monnaie Opera House, we are looking for female extras.

The Queen of the Night’s lament is at the heart of Romeo Castellucci’s interpretation of The Magic Flute. He believes in the much-derided honesty of the Queen of the Night and takes her point of view, that of an aggrieved mother.

In order to bring this maternal figure to theatrical life, we are looking, for each performance of the opera, for three mothers who are willing to express their milk onstage. Symbolising the Queen of the Night's failure to keep her child, the milk is wasted. No other form of nudity will be required.

There are no special requirements. You won't have to talk or to act, just be yourself onstage!
The performances will take place at La Monnaie in Brussels between 18 September and 3 October 2018.
The women taking part in the project may choose to appear in one or more performances.
They will be paid for their participation.
